Los Angeles-based developer of computer accessories Azio Corp. has reportedly launched a new antimicrobial and waterproof keyboard and mouse. Sources with relevant information stated that the recent development comes in the light of rising hygiene concerns associated with computer hardware amidst the recent COVID-19 pandemic.

The company, which is known for its Retro Classic product line, has apparently integrated antimicrobial agents in order to protect its products from germs and bacteria.

According to industry experts, silver ions present in antimicrobial agents offer better protection against microbes such as gram-positive bacteria, gram-negative bacteria, and molds. It also provides with exceptional sustainability, safety and resistance to microbial growth.

Health and safety is essential especially among staff operating in medical, industrial or food sectors since they are susceptible to germs or various liquids, expert cite. Thus, the use of antimicrobial products evidently helps in mitigating the risk of infection by inhibiting the growth of bacteria.

Sources stated that Azio’s latest products are covered in additional layer not only for their safety but also to be waterproof and washable. These products are apparently IP66 rated and the housing helps in protecting the electronic board from water, spills, oils, and other agents.

The user can clean the products with isopropyl alcohol and wipe them with a strong cleaning agent, or even put it in the dishwasher, sources added. They can also simply wash and apply soap to clean the keyboard and the mouse in an event of an accident.

For the record, the recent product launches of Azio Corp. include waterproof & antimicrobial keyboard and mouse as well as a water resistant large font backlit USB keyboard with antimicrobial protection (MAC Version). Additionally, the company has developed a waterproof large font backlit USB keyboard with antimicrobial protection (PC Version).
