New Jersey-based organic and frozen foods company Dr. Praeger’s has reportedly expanded its reach in the refrigerated section by introducing their first frozen veggie burger line.
According to reliable sources, the new refrigerated burgers will be available at Walmart under two SKUs (stock-keeping units) namely, the Chipotle Black Bean Veggie Burger and Classic Veggie Burger.
The Chipotle Black Bean Veggie Burger is a combination of black beans, peppers, corn, and brown rice along with a smoky chipotle flavor, sources claimed. Meanwhile, the Classic Veggie Burger is a combination of brown rice, quinoa, leafy vegetables, zucchini, kale, peas, peppers, onions, and carrots.
These new products are kosher, vegan, and non-GMO certified. Reportedly, the two burgers will also feature the same veggie-forward flavor and appearance, comprising of around 13-16 grams of plant protein per patty.
Larry Praeger, CEO at Dr. Praeger’s, mentioned in a statement that the company intends to reach out to its customers and offer the veggie-forward option wherever possible. He added that there is a large market for conventional veggie burgers that taste and look like vegetables, and the company is putting efforts in offering its services at every shopping section.
The refrigerated burger will be available from mid-October 2020 at specific Walmart stores across the country. Sources further claimed that the products will be offered in packs of two and will be priced around USD 4.98.
