HID Global, a leading American manufacturer of secure identity products announced that it has acquired Access-IS, a developer and manufacturer of electronic systems designed to capture and transfer information to electronic systems accurately.
With proven technology and solutions of Access-IS, HID Global will broaden its technology portfolio and stimulate the vertical market expansion and further add new products that can help meet customers’ needs for efficient digitized solutions.
CEO of HID Global, Björn Lidefelt called Access-IS solutions a good fit for HID. He stated that Access-IS will boost HID’s industry leadership by strategically aligning with its Extended Access Technologies business and transport and ticketing solutions in the Identification Technologies business.
For over three decades, Access-IS has focused on innovative designs and quality when it comes to products, technologies, and solutions. Be it barcode reading, NFC and EMV for mobile ticketing or scanning document, Access-IS has developed a range of devices that are used worldwide in several key sectors like government, transportation, and finance.
Access-IS will deploy its proven solutions to cover HID’s technology and product portfolio. Over 20,000 systems of Access-IS are used globally for public transportation and ticketing and process over 100 million transactions. The company has more than 50,000 users utilizing its identity and security solutions. Over 200 airports have installed Access-IS systems and are used by various top airlines.
Along with building upon the company’s existing vertical market, HID will leverage Access-IS technology to support further expansion. Also, EMV contactless payment readers from Access-IS will expand HID’s offering in various other markets
