Michigan based logistics company- Lineage Logistics has reportedly announced the donation of US$5 million and the introduction of its novel “Share A Meal” campaign, in a bid to provide close to 100 million meals to people affected due to the recent coronavirus outbreak.
Reportedly, to initiate the campaign, the logistics giant is donating approximately US$1 million to the Feeding America® COVID-19 Response Fund and will also donate close to US$500,000 to match contributions extended for the fundraiser operated by Stephen and Ayesha Curry’s Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation in which the funds are directed to the nation’s leading domestic hunger-relief platform-Feeding America®.
According to Greg Lehmkuhl, President and CEO, Lineage, the virus has raised extraordinary challenges to facilitate the storage and distribution of food on a larger scale. The company aims at addressing these challenges by offering temperature-controlled warehouses, financial aid and supply chain logistics.
Apparently, along with the aforementioned initiatives, Lineage Logistics is focusing on working with other strategic partners to extend logistics and financial assistance in communities across the globe. With the help of its strong customer base, comprising of major food producers and manufacturers along with Lineage’s investors and vendors, the company aims at donating funds as well as working together closely with people globally to guarantee that there is adequate food to rely on.
Notably, owing to the significant increase in the number of COVID-19 cases globally, Lineage Logistics has tied up with Global FoodBanking Network to render funds, donate food packages and use the company’s storage resources and superior distribution network on a worldwide scale.
