Israeli-based mobility intelligence platform, Otonomo Technologies Ltd. has formed an alliance with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to provide support for the AWS IoT Fleetwise service.

For the unversed, Otonomo is a part of the AWS Partner Network (APN) and has an existing integration with the AWS Connected Mobility Solution. The recent collaboration was announced at the AWS re:Invent being held in Las Vegas, USA.

Mike Tzamaloukas, GM at AWS Automotive, claims that cars today are producing GBs of data every hour. Associating cars with data centers on wheels, Mike said that the collaboration will assist automakers’, as well as their partners in making use of that data and create new and innovative solutions in order to advance the mobility industry.

The AWS IoT FleetWise service is targeted at automakers and come with advanced capabilities that include efficient collection and transfer of selective automotive data from any vehicle to cloud in near-real-time.

Otonomo analyses data from vehicles to provide new and improved solutions for mobility and transportation experience. When combined with AWS IoT FleetWise’s filtering capabilities, the platform will be able to process and deliver large quantities of the data it manages into the AWS workloads.

With this increased velocity, Otonomo believes that its customers will be able to create next-gen connected car applications.

Otonomo’s CEO and co-founder, Ben Volkow states that the collaboration will allow automakers to collect and transfer data to cloud more easily and efficiently than before, and that their firm is looking forward to expanding its work in leveraging AWS as well as for additional capabilities that it can achieve with the Kaleidoscope.

Currently, Otonomo has a presence in the United States and Europe and recently acquired an AI-tech startup Neura, based in Israel.
