TE Connectivity (TE), a Swiss-domiciled technology company, has recently designed a 10A TV-8 rated OJT relay. The design of the new OJT relay has been made to ensure high inrush capabilities and meet the market demands without the need to sacrifice the valuable printed circuit board (PCB) space.

TE is a global industrial technology leader that focuses on creating a sustainable, productive, safer, and connected future. Its broad range of sensor and connectivity solutions enables growth in various sectors including transportation, medical technology, and data communications, among others.

The recently designed OJT power relays delivers a powerful and compact design solution, with the capability to withstand over a 117A inrush current in relays of 40% smaller in size as compared to other similarly rated relays. Product designs are becoming smaller to embed more functionality in less space.

The 15.2 mm (H) design is a UL TV-8 rated design in order to meet the safety standards in the global industry for the high inrush applications. The reliability and safety of the device with high inrush current while turning the switch on can be guaranteed through the adoption of UL TV-8 rating that supports OJT 10A TV-8 relays.

OJT relays, offered in 5 through 24V versions, find applications in indoor lighting, power supply controls, printers, HVAC, industrial controls, motors, industrial machinery, appliances (cooking, refrigeration, and washing machines), and smart plugs.

Heilind Asia, TE Connectivity’s authorized distributor, delivers value-added services and products of the company. Heilind Asia is the largest distributor of cables, wires, terminal blocks, relays, switches, and Connectors. The company caters to both contract and original equipment manufacturers in all electronics industry’s market segments. It also stocks products from the leading manufacturers of the industry in 25 component categories. It also lays the main emphasis on sensor products, fastener/hardware, electromechanical, and interconnect.
