Trimble Navigation, a California-based hardware, software, and services technology company, has reportedly announced novel integrations of BIMcollab and Microsoft 365 with its cloud based collaboration platform, Trimble® Connect™.

The new incorporation with Trimble Connect would provide both platforms a common data environment to connect project stakeholders with single source of data to make informed decisions and enhance team efficiency. Now, customers with a Microsoft 365 license could utilize Microsoft software applications for editing project data like spreadsheets, presentations, and documents through the Trimble Connect directly.

Jeremy Sibert, Director of technology, Hensel Phelps, stated that the integration of Microsoft 365 is a thrilling addition to Trimble Connect.

Sibert further stated that the capability to create, edit, and distribute documents from Trimble Connect would save the company’s time a lot. Apart from saving time, the platform would allow users in tracking updates, managing document security, and monitoring version control more proficiently using tools which the users are acquainted with and are using to a great degree.

The new integration with BIMcollab would further allow customers to collaborate in real-time. Simple and easy features of Trimble Connect would also lessen the learning curve as well as give BIMcollab customers, even those who do not have access to BIM authoring tool, a common data environment to visualize project data and collaborate in the project lifecycle.

Erik Pijnenburg, CEO, BIMcollab, stated that the new integration with Trimble Connect provides the firm’s mutual customers one of the most innovative solutions available to share and enhance models.

Marcel Broekmaat, product director, Trimble Connect, stated that integration with Trimble Connect and various other industry solutions are critical as the company continues driving construction's digital transformation by empowering project shareholders to effectively unlock the real value of data across the overall construction lifecycle.
